I'm hearing you too @Appleblossom  and feeling for you.  Getting used to 'empty nesting' can be a huge adjustment, but overall a whole new phase of life where you can actually put yourself first at last, in positive ways.  As you said, no more walking on eggshells all the time, which will be a huge relief when it sinks in.  And very strong of you to be able to say no sometimes.  No more having to negotiate every little detail with another.  And space to really find yourself. It does not matter how to spell or what you plant, but I found it good to work on reimagining .... somehow a better path opens up ... if not to the stars ... then the moon.

I am well atm Dear @outlander 

Feeling grateful for my cat and my life and my forum friends.  This is Big for Me.

I accept it may be fleeting but I celebrate it while I can.

My mantra and had been "pain reduction" for so looooong. It is mild enough for me to feel good and worthwhile.  My son actually said something was good in his childhood yesterday.  That is huge for him to admit I was not that bad ....
