No I haven't thought of a present for myself.

I did buy myself new shoes - more a functional necessity, than a present.

The baby Java finches are fully-grown & fully-feathered.

Their beaks are starting to go orange (like their parents), from black.

They were all panting (beaks wide open) in the heat today - so I sprayed the aviary roofs with hose, to cool them down.

The canaries came up to the wire (on perch), with wings out, for a bit of a mist shower from the hose.

Fairly quiet day today.  

I can imagine the birds appreciating the cool down 😁. 

If you haven't thought of anything as yet,  perhaps a simple thing (that could even become a tradition) such as treating  yourself to a fancy cheesecake could be an option. (Sara Lea chocolate ganache cheesecake + fresh strawberries = recommended)

Now there's a good idea, for a Chrstmassy self-present.

I have to admit, I still have lots of worke yet to do - on feeling okay about giving myself presents, or special food etc.

Yes, need to start new traditions or habits.

What is Ganache? - please excuse my food & other ignorance....

Ganache is like a thick chocolate sauce but used as icing is between cake layers/as a topping.
