Re: Hello

Hey @Appleblossom @heartathome  yeah i try shorten my posts by not ovwer explaining and  i think in the other post i wasnt very clear in the point being it never is the case factually its my hypervigilance and fears sneaking into thoughts that i think that way and  i didnt know that either @rav3n  about the tier i remember thinking talking to seasoned forumites  then see the posts of being few days longer than myself if that haha

Re: Hello

@heartathome all we can do is our best for our selves and for our sons. I know how difficult it can be when a loved one is suffering agitation regardless of medication issues. I have also struggled with a lot of agitation.

I hope your night goes relatively well. It can be a delicate art walking the walk of a mother with a son dealing with serious mental health issues. Take care My son has gone out for a gaming night with a friend. I am just so glad he has decent company.

@REDLINEZ750

I have dealt with loved ones with serious MH struggles in 3 generations. Not easy. Then there's all my madness...

Re: Hello

@rav3n I just typed a big story for you about my dad and humour and it wouldn't post and now I've lost it all! 🤨 I'm not a fast typist and it was frustrating! How's your day been? 🙃

Re: Hello

All good. I'm over the frustration now! 🙂

Re: Hello

Hi @Appleblossom It sounds as if you know what's going on and I appreciate that! What is a Community Elder? I'm so glad your son is going out to a gaming night. That should be a lot of fun! My son is into gaming too but is a loner. My son has a support worker who games with him sometimes. 🙃

Re: Hello

I was a community guide back around 2016, and I went back to being an ordinary member, but they put the label community elder next to some of us. It felt respectful. I joined 2015.

My son was a real loner for a very long time, but has recently found a decent friendship group  through a guy he met on public transport last year. It has worked out well for them this year. He also has Bipolar 1, and they have forged a decent friendship. My son is anti drinking, so won’t be lead astray, and I think the guy appreciates my son’s good influence in a range of ways. They also hike etc, so it’s not all screens. I hope one day your son finds people he can relate to.

My son was offered NDIS, 10 years ago, but they mucked him around so much my son has barely touched a dime, Then I was put on NDIS, 5 years ago.  I try to make it work properly and ethically, my son’s wellbeing is my first goal in my plan.

I had a support worker this morning… who is the same age as my son and has been a great help for me and also visited my son in hospital.

Not all support workers are equal. Not sure how involved you are in your son’s situation. Tag me if you need to talk.
