Hi @Former-Member, are you OK? Have you heard anything? Just thinking of you. I have two youmger brothers with psychosis Bro3 & Bro4. Bro3 had an admission a month back and put back on injections and stopped sending horriblw tx msgs. And the other one, escorted in this last week, he's been off his meds for 2yrs and somehow managed (not without problems and upset and leaning heavily on parents or financial support with gambling and pot expences). He abused his case manager on the phone so got carted in for assessment.

Got a tx from mother today saying he has a tribunal tomorrow (I would have thought that was a bit early in the piece) but I think they want to impose Shock Therapy with his new diagnosis (new Dr) 'Major Depression' Of cause he's highly anxious about being 'locked up' (incarcerated) against his will, and worried about being 'chemically lobotomised' ... ... And my all round 'unwell' mother sticking her nose in manipulating everyone.

I live away, and care (because I too suffer MI and have been 'locked up' and spat out again to care for myself. The whole thing disturbs me beyond measure. Like you I can't switch off, cut and runn some days. I think NY brother would do better without our destructive mothers interference. If cause you're not like that. I don't know what I'm saying. Pretending I can matter in anyones life.
The only solution right now I think is a cup of tea. Solved a lit of problems for me. I'm dying here. lol

im confused what ive written where because have two posts about this one on each side of the fence so to speak. multi talented - not

police caught up with him, he presented well which he always does, he told them he was just over there having a bit of a holiday, rest from his family!! us!! missing person file cancelled. CTO is in SA so doesnt carry over there.

spoke to a few people yesterday and now have an appointment with a counsellor re myself and my son having schizophrenia dec 22nd. i said i wanted information how to deal with it with him and with myself basically.

i managed to find an outreach team that has an office in the hills country where i live. a lady who works there and another place rang me today and had a very long chat. she wants to help us, my son's dad and i. she believes that the fact we have both had abusive text messages, feel that he is not himself and very unwell, plus a current CTO should be enough to get the authorities interstate to check him out properly. she said she will look into it and ring me. so that was extremely positive. my husband came home and found me almost floating, on an extreme high, no dinner prepared, cats not fed glaring at me. I then spent the next 10 minutes or so going through the whole thing with him, poor man he was very tired from work and long drive home. He is also going through some issues with his sports club ( unbelievable) so i asked questions and showed concern. so im now tired but overtired . i only took 1 prn today.

Tawney, can your brother appeal the shock therapy? if he has only just been diagnosed with major depression he would not have been on medication for that. of course he is anxious and frightened.

you dont need to pretend that you matter because you matter very much. Tawney i was really losing it and i felt something when i heard of how you have been there alongside 2 brothers. im crying again because of the pain we carry for them. i rang my son's dad to tell him that there might be some hope. he wants to go interstate to see him. so ive told him to wait until we find out more from this lady. i really feel that if we can get someone of value within the system there is some hope. even though it means him being detained. he might not be as much in denial. i can only pray. i will say a prayer for you too.xxx

Thanks @Former-Member, you're a trooper. My Bro has a MH tribunal tomorrow and they'll decide for him re Shock Therapy. I suggested he try it as he's tried everything else. He's not wanting to, nor does he want to have antipsychotic injections. Its a mess. I try stay in touch with everyone but mother causes much division. Sorry, got carried away.

Sounds like you've made headway with trying to get help to your son. I was wondering if it would be such a bad thing if his dad went to see him? The boys seem to listen to their dad more than us. I suspect he's interstate on purpose.

The latest on my Bro3 at the tribunal today was a diagnosis of schizophrenia and he's back on injections which he's crying about. Its horrible, he's not hurting anybody. They even said he'll be in hospital for Christmas. The Dr earlier in the week who was exploring depression instead and shock therapu, he has abruptly resigned.

I'm sad for my bro, if he had proper support and money he'd be seen as eccentric and allowed to live in peace without interfearance. I wanna smash something.

I've been following your thread.My heart goes out to your brother and yourself.

Has your brother tried stating he wants to see a different Psychiatrist?

Clearly he feels that his opinions,wishes and feelings are not being valued or respected.

Belows also the number/link to the Official Visitor program and the Mental Health Commision-maybe you should "raise hell" and see if they can do something to help your brother so that he is treated with dignity and with empowerment.

Anoher option might be to contact the ABC media although I don't know how "interested" they are in these kind of stories?

i agree with you about his dad going over there. ive told him to hold off as there is stuff happening in the pipeline as i write this.

i had a huge rant before on here about the so called coordinator for my son. she only contacted me today because of a third party putting pressure on higher up the chain.

i was extremely upset and infuriated with her. she made excuses throughout the call.

i wrote a very lengthy detailed description of what i said to her and how i felt and i think it has been removed possibly deemed as inappropriate.

i didnt swear, i didnt even raise my voice at her, my tone just becomes assertive.

well that is another story obviously not to be read on here.

how are you, i know today is difficult for you and have been thinking of you. i will check to see if you have posted.

How are you? Please don't smash something....@Ivana is very clever in her advise for your state....

You Know  of much worse situations than your brother. He needs to stay strong. So do you. IF you want to be part of his recovery, is there another PSychiatrist that you can ask for and give him any material on a man in a position who goes psychotic when under stress? 

If you go to the library and get the information yourself: maybe they might listen to you ?

The most important person in this jurney is you. So maybe in another day, you can call Arafmi or an agency and speak to someone about falling into Psychosis when under stress. 

If you do it slowly .....thinking about yourself, maybe something might happen? When I tried to get my husband out of jail: golly, I stretched myself into the green stretchy man that kids play with and collapsed. 

Lots of good letters though........
