What does your forums' name mean?

Hi everyone!

As I browse through the forums, post upon post, thread upon thread, I am gobsmacked by the creativity behind every one's forums' name and SUPER curious about the story behind it.

So I've decided to start this thread.

What does your forums' name mean?

Over to you @Flying_Hams ! (if you feel able to share)

Re: What does your forums' name mean?

haha @tyme
good thinking

Originally when i joined Sane Forums my username was Hamsolo01

It's a play on Han Solo from star wars. But as time has gone by I've changed it slightly.

I had Hamsolo for a while and then had The-Hams, then I think I had Hamso

Now it is just Hams

Thinking of changing it again soon but not sure haha

what about you @tyme ?

El Hamsa @Flying_Hams ....

Re: What does your forums' name mean?

Awesome @Flying_Hams . I've ticked 'Asking Hams about his name' off my bucket-list.

As for my name, I've shared this before, but here's the 'story' behind my username:

  1. My offline name relates to 'thyme' (the herb)
  2. 'Time' in itself does not discriminate. No matter the age, culture, race, sexuality of people, we all get 24 hours a day.
  3. thyme + time = tyme (other names were taken, so I came up with 'tyme')
  4. I am pedantic with correct punctuation, including capital letters; so to 'de-senitise' me, I intentionally began my name 'tyme' WITHOUT a capital letter!!!!

And next on my bucket-list is @StuF : Is it 'Stu F' or 'Stuff'?

What a random thread... but intriguing too!

Re: What does your forums' name mean?

i like it @tyme

hey i see @outlander has liked the post

I know the story I think but i will let her share it and i also remember what i thought about her name - i thought it was a star wars reference haha. In Episode 1 the junk yard dealer Watto calls people not from Tatooine "outlanders"

Lol

Re: What does your forums' name mean?

Um , it was my first Cat's name as a child re Tab if you can be bothered to read back that far...

Re: What does your forums' name mean?

lol @Flying_Hams no nothing to do with star wars.

My name represent the way i often feel in this world and the inability to connect or relate to many people especially those my age. I often feel like an 'outlander' or a person from a different time/land and someone who isnt sure how to fit in.

Re: What does your forums' name mean?

@tyme

The former 🙂

Re: What does your forums' name mean?

As for @StuF ! Woohoo! Another thing off my bucket-list. Now in my mind, I'll stop calling you 'stuff'! So sorry!

@TAB - Love it!

@outlander - I'm so glad you shared. Makes so much sense.

Thank you everyone who has shared. Please feel free to tag others.
