Hi @Hanna2 I had anxiety for ten years it was severe I couldn’t function in public I went to a psychiatrist and they medicated me and after a couple of months the anxiety was gone

hi all Id say well for starters anxiety can be rather unsettling I definetly have issues with this ,as for what helps though I tend to use music as my source of therapy ,relaxing easygoing music in particular like soft pop,indie and folk music like you know kind of ballad style ,story like music and particular songs of with lyrics that really resonate to help soothe and distract my mind till the anxcious feelings pass ,I would also say another thing that helps is walking but not just walking on a boring everyday street instead I prefer a nature walk somewhere with trees,greenery,nature,flowers,a bonus if this includes a lake or wildlife like birds ,ducks,ect or I would say the most realxing location Ive found is beaches for some reason beach walks really help all my senses to relax ,the smell of the salty water,the feel of the cool breeze,feel of the sand on bare feet and just standing there breathing in and out while looking at the blue sky,blue ocean ,so walking somewhere thats kind of naturally asthetic and emotionally grounding and somewhere that gives a sense of creativity ,seems to really help ,in fact talking about this reminds of when I was a child and actually once afraid of the beach and water, my father would stand with me close to the water standing on the stand and almost showing me a sense of grounding oneself whilst the sand goes in and out with the tide and he wouldnt budge and because he wouldnt budge it helped me to feel secure that even though you could feel the sand move under your feet that you can stand tall and not be afraid of the moving of the sand beneath your feet ,which come to think of it was a great memory and empowering that even though where not in control everythings gonna be ok, other things that seem to help my anxiety is buy having a detox of sorts from technology such as ring phones and any social media and instead taking time to jounal thoughts out rather than letting outside social preasure overwhelm or overstimulate me enjoying the peace and quiet, just some ideas to try but I know everyones different with what helps anxiety and honestly I still at times can have that kind of social anxiety where you dont wanna leave your house particulary when thinking about appoints or phone calls or you know just the everyday regular interactions can be diffucult with anxiety and sometimes the overthinking with it is sometimes the diffucult thing to switch off from especially if at night for example which is why I tend to get insomia from from time to time but yes anyway theres some things that seem to work which I try to rely on as much as possible ,Lost Angel
