Spine Update

So, end of the road in terms of fixing anything with my spine. However, there is potential that I could have a Spinal Cord Stimulator implanted into my spine and that this would resolve a significant amount of my pain. My Neurosurgeon has referred me on to their inhouse Pain Management specialists who will look at the options for this. My biggest hinderence is me, Im big. The device they implant that controls everything and the battery has to be no more than 5cm deep and if there is too much of me on my back, then it will be an issue. Ive changed my diet significantly over the past 6 weeks or so, so hopefully that will help reduce some weight and get me to a point where it isnt a factor in having it.

The pain management specialist is also going to re-evaluate my pain medication. Im on really high doses of a really strong pain med and am off and on a really high dose of another, depending on how bad my pain is. So they are thinking that due to this, my back, well whole body, has become hypersensitive. So, they might augment what Im taking now with other pain medication, which hopefully will mean overall I should be able to lower my pain medication, which Im really keen on.

Ive been having issues with a dizzy, wonky, off balance feeling in my head in the morning and afternoon. The first thing they are looking for is a brain tumor. Add to this, the past 3 or 4 mornings, I have been waking with an incredible headache, like its blistering and Im grabbing my head and groaning the moment I wake up. However, once I manage to sit up a few minutes later the pain is gone, talked to the Neurosurgeon today as I assumed spinal issues, but suprise suprise, he needs to rule out brain tumor. Thankfully, I have a brain MRI tomorrow so should be able to confirm that pretty soon, hopefully.
