Ohhh noooo ... sorry that your Mum is obviously unwell ... thus needing to be in hospital @Shaz51 

Hmmmm ... it is bad timing.  A couple of days in hospital means she comes out on Friday?  Any chance you could ask them to keep her in a couple of extra days?  That way you could go away for your anniversary weekend, and not have to worry about your Mum while gone.  Perhpas your Mum may be agreeable to this too?  I know she would want you to get away for a couple of days.  Its hard I know.  But even as a carer for your Mum, you do still need to take some time out for yourself.  She knows that.  See what you can do perhaps?

I agree with @Emelia8  too @Shaz51 , if Mum's condition is stable and she can stay in hospital it is a good opportunity for you to get a mini break whole she is being looked after.

sounds good @Former-Member , still feel a bit guilty 

but if she has respite in hospital it will feel better then if she is at home 

we did it last year when she ended up in hospital 2 days before we went to Darwin , and they kept her there for the week while we were away 

makes you feel a bit better knowing that mum is being cared for xxx
