That bush rat sounds like a real gremlin in the place, @greenpea. One time C and I lived in a house with a python under the bathtub. It couldn't get into the house, it was sealed well enough. But we could hear it under the bathtub when either of us would take a bath. It was there for ages too, probably the whole of one winter, maybe longer. I also saved a cat from a python just over the fence of the back yard. It was in the tall grass of a vacant block and had this cat totally mesmerised.
