Hey @Mabel
I'm hearing that you're really concerned about your son's wellbeing and how he's going without the CTO. Does he have any other sort of support at the moment?

Hello @Mabel
I hear you and I'm sorry you've not had many replies.
There's often a sense of helplessness and despair when a loved one appears so unwell. In my experience it's very difficult to do anything "for" the person as the health system stresses selfcare and patient confidentiality. We can sometimes do something "with" the person if they're receptive to gentle advice and persuasion, leveraging our connection with them to suggest touching base with their mental health team or gp for reassurance and/or assessment and treatment. If the person is in crisis (especially if it's a life threatening situation for themselves or others) we can do something "to" the person by requesting the intervention of a CATT team or emergency services under the Mental Health Act which can lead to involuntary hospitalisation.
I'm someone with lived experience who's been scheduled, has had CATT teams, and is also an informal carer for someone needing this sort of help.
Good luck, and best wishes.
