@Mazarita I agree the standards down where I live are not great but improving. I don't mind paying as long as I can get something nice to call home. Nothing wrong with small ours is small too and I like it it is cosy with a nice feel to it 🙂

@Mazarita@Ant7 when I was married and the children were really young we retned a place way down south and in the winter you could see your breath inside the house it was so cold!! 😮

Wow, seeing your breath inside. I think it's happened to me on odd occasions too, @greenpea. Not where I am now though. It's almost the perfect climate for me.

@Mazarita@Ant7 yes well the rent was cheap and it was close to the school in walking distance but omg in the winter .... and then there was a time. Do you want me to tell you something really gross??

@Mazarita@Ant7 Okay we had this awful old carpet and and old fireplace which couldnt be used which we blocked off to stop the cold air coming through .... anways .... one time we were watcing tv and I noticed all these strange grubs coming out of the carpet .... there would have been in total 30 or more. I called my ex to come and he had a look and he said they were maggots!!!!!!!!!

We pushed away the blocked off area of the fireplace and sure enough there was a dead bird!!!!!!!It was moving with the maggots inside it :O. I swear to god it was the most horrific thing I have seen in a long, long time.
