Found it weird re-watching that movie after watching the Anakin prequels... suddenly instead of seeing a 2D Bad Guy whenever Vader turns up, I'm seeing a manipulated and hearbroken young man who has discovered that he's a father via the lost love-obsession of his life... Dealing with all the above in a really messed up way, but QED.
